As Salaamu ‘Alaikum,
I asked some sisters to help out for donations from Montreal and I got this series of questions back. Please help to answer them soon so they can go ahead and feel safe to donate. I advise also adding this important information on the blog site so people can make informed decisions.
Below is her questions:
I need to know a few things before I donate to anyone.
Does this masjid have an open policy for women or not.
Does this masjid have a GOOD entrance for women or not.
What are the Khutba’s like? Are they INCLUSIVE of all or not?
Insha Allah I shall donate once you send me an email clarifying these few things.
You know that it is very dangerous to donate these days UNLESS you KNOW these people very well.
The Govt. is clamping down on every organization.

Jazzakum Allah Khair for your questions and interest in our project.
Regarding your questions: we do have an open policy toward women, and in fact the sisters are very active in realizing this project. They came up with several initiatives that were very fruitful, and our active board members is supposed to include at least 2 sisters, in addition to the school principal. The mosque itself has TWO Good entrances to ladies, one from the parking lot and one from the street. The space for the ladies is a mezzanine that looks over the main prayer area, with its won bathroom and an office that is exclusively for women. They have also a large terasse that looks over a nice park for socializing. Of course our Khotbahs as well as all our actvities are all inclusive, and that’s the mosque’s policy. In each month, a number of Khotbahs are given in Arabic and French, and the others are given in Arabic and English.

Would be nice to add the exact location (map pointer would be even nicer) of the mosque as not all muslims are aware of it.
